Natalie Verriest is a Sydney based artist and filmmaker. She works primarily with oil painting and digital installation, often illuminating how the actions of individuals create the reality of the collective.
Born in South Africa, Natalie grew up on the NSW Central Coast. She has been the recipient of multiple awards, notably being the winner of the Emerging Art Prize in 2017, a finalist for the Gosford Art Prize and had her debut solo exhibition PARADIGM/SHIFT in 2019 at Gosford Regional Gallery. A graduate of the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, Natalie has a double Bachelors degree in Fine Arts and Film Studies. She is a 2016 NEIS Small Business Mentorship participant and a 2018 MatchLab Grant Recipient through Creative Partnerships Australia. Vogue Australia chose her as a featured artist for #VogueArtWeek, she has been published in Art Edit Magazine and has twice been a podcast guest for This Creative Life with Felicity O’Connor. In addition to her art practice, Natalie works in film and television. She is also beginning to teach creative business skills to aspiring artists, musicians, writers and actors with a firm belief that artists can change the world. |
